We treat herpes

Autumn cold brings unpleasant surprises: one of them is a rash on the lips, or “fever on the lips.” It is caused by the herpes virus, which is very difficult to fight. The main thing is to start acting on time.

Herpes virus: where is it from? It is believed that we all got this virus in childhood, in close contact with friends.

The herpes virus (Herpes simplex), like all viruses, can stop for a long time. During the life of the virus particles are stored in our body and are activated only under special circumstances:
with a sharp climate change;
after overheating in the sun;
with prolonged stress;
overwork;
during debilitating diseases and even the common cold;
after taking drugs that suppress the immune system.
The first autumn colds create a real “paradise” for herpes. People get cold, the immune system is depleted, and herpes virus particles get good conditions for development. The first symptoms do not keep you waiting: ulcers appear on the lips, swelling, which very soon turn into moist bubbles. They stay wet for up to 10 days. The contents of the bubbles are literally stuffed with viruses that are ready to infect others.

How dangerous is it? If a person’s immune system is quite strong, the “fever on the lips” goes away by itself, but it will take about two weeks. The appearance of bubbles may be accompanied by high temperature, enlarged lymph nodes (they can be felt in the corners of the lower jaw, as well as in the armpits). In severe cases, the bubbles can spread to the skin of the face, hands, and even lead to eye inflammation. Launched herpes is fraught with dangerous complications: inflammation of the nerve cells of the brain, pulmonary infection, inflammation of the upper respiratory tract. In order not to tempt fate, it is necessary to strengthen the immune system and try to overcome the very first symptoms.

We treat “fever on the lips.” With the appearance of “fever on the lips,” most people prefer treatment at home, especially since it does not require any special tricks.
For disinfection of moist bubbles several times a day, you should use an alcohol solution: it can be medical alcohol (up to 40-50%), vodka or cologne.
After disinfection, pharmaceutical ointments, for example, Acyclovir or Gerpferon, give a good effect. They will “dry” moist lips on the lips and stop the spread of infection.
One of the most effective treatments is the use of essential oils. Many essential oils are famous for their antiviral activity, which is just useful in the fight against herpes. Essential oils of lemon, eucalyptus, lavender, bergamot, tea tree, grapefruit are best suited for this. Apply 1-2 drops of pure essential oil onto a cotton swab, and then apply the swab several times to the inflamed lip. This procedure can be carried out several times a day. In addition to the antiviral effect, essential oils (especially the essence of lavender) contribute to the restoration of skin cells, so the cracks and wounds on the lips will quickly disappear.
To stop the spread of infection will help herbal tinctures – antiseptics. This, above all, lavender, calendula, sage, witch hazel. To prepare the tincture, it is enough to brew 1-2 tablespoons of the leaves in a glass of hot water and cool for 30-40 minutes to room temperature. Then blot a cotton swab in the tincture and apply several times to the inflamed lip.
Interestingly, a good anti-herpes effect provides a juicy crust of fresh lemon: its inner surface must also be applied to the bubbles on the lips.

Prevention of herpes. With good nutrition and the receipt of all the necessary vitamins, the human immune system produces antibodies that inhibit the development of the herpes virus. Therefore, it is very important to maintain your immunity. To do this, immunomodulating drugs are suitable, for example, Immunal, Echinacea tincture. Vitamin complexes “Gerimaks with ginseng”, “Supradin”, “Neuromultivit” will help to resist herpes. We should not forget about the daily intake of vitamin C (ascorbic acid): this vitamin has amazing strength, strengthening our immunity.

Special attention must be paid to lip hygiene. Do not touch them with dirty hands, prevent accidental contact of lips with objects in public transport, at work, in crowded places. At the time of cold winds, cracks often appear on dry, chapped lips. In such a situation, the skin of the lips cannot perform a protective, barrier function, and an active herpes virus with droplets of saliva can be transmitted to you from another person (for example, during a conversation). To restore the barrier function of the skin, it is recommended to apply daily hygienic lipstick. For these purposes, a regenerating and protective lip balm SPF 2 is perfect. The balsam contains beeswax, which restores the barrier function of the skin, and the essential oils of grapefruit and tea tree inhibit the development of herpes.
