Ayurveda – the ancient science of beauty and health

We all want to be beautiful, healthy and live long. But for some reason, the miraculous means by which the neighbor has found a second youth, do not produce the desired effect. What is there to be surprised if each organism is individual, which traditional medicine does not take into account at all. So for some, a trendy diet will be a salvation, and the other will just earn gastritis and depression. Dissatisfied with today’s medical methods of treatment, more and more people around the world are looking for health systems that cure as a whole, and are turning to ancient knowledge – Ayurveda.

Usually, this word is understood as “ancient Indian medicine,” although it actually means “knowledge of life” (from the Sanskrit roots, “Ayur” means life, and “Veda” means knowledge) and is a very deep philosophical system, which by no means contradicts modern scientific views on the world, but views the universe from a different angle. The famous American doctor of Ayurveda, Robert Svoboda, who studied in India for many years, believes that all Ayurvedic knowledge is nothing but a “by-product” of the search for immortality by the ancient sages. Indeed, recent scientific studies have shown that human DNA is designed for 440 years of reproduction, i.e. this is the theoretical limit of human life. So the data from ancient sources about the huge life expectancy of people or stories about 500-year-old Tibetan elders are not so metaphorical. At the same time, modern medicine has not been able to raise the average standard of living to at least 100 years even in the most developed countries. Note that this is not just about long life, but about a full and healthy life, it is unlikely anyone would want to live 400 years, eating some drugs and forgetting the names of loved ones.

Ayurveda is more than just a medical treatment system. It focuses on maintaining the health of the body, mind and spirit through the proper application of spiritual philosophies, exercises, a positive outlook on life and a life in harmony with nature.

Harmony is perhaps one of the fundamental principles in Ayurvedic practice. According to Ayurveda, nature and people should be in perfect harmony and unity. Diseases occur when the balance between them is disturbed. The restoration of this fundamental balance through the use of natural products is the main task of this medical system. You can maintain and maintain good health, relying on the healing properties of the vital force of the body, without violating the laws of nature and maintaining a constructive and sound mental approach to life. The main goal of Ayurveda teaching is the unity of body, soul and spirit. Ayurveda believes that not only the damaged part of the body, but the individual as a whole should be treated. Two people with the same disease may require different treatment methods depending on their personal constitution and state of balance in their organisms. The emphasis is on the prevention of bodily diseases, and not just on their treatment. Unlike traditional medicine, there are no serious side effects when using Ayurvedic practices.
What is the secret of Ayurveda?
Ancient Ayurveda considered people from the point of view of classification into three physical types depending on the element dominating in their constitution – air, fire and water. In Ayurveda these three elements unite in the principle of three doshas – Vata represents Air and Ether, Pitta – Fire and Water, Kapha – Water and Earth.

Vata type
Vata type is characterized by a thin body, dry skin, a predisposition to constipation and insomnia, a quick reaction and a tendency to anxiety. The main distinctive feature of Vata type is variability. People belonging to this type are unpredictable and significantly less stereotypical than the Pitt and Kapha types. Variety in size, shape, mood, and behavior is their defining feature. In people like Vata, mental and physical energy is released in bursts. They tend to walk fast, feel hunger at any time, enjoy the exciting environment and change, fall asleep at any time of the night, skip food, digest food one day, and bad at another.

Pitt Type
The main property of the Pitt type is intensity. Every person with bright red hair and a blush on his face is dominated by Pitt, as well as by anyone who is distinguished by ambition, wit, directness, courage, and inclination to engage in controversy or jealousy. But the belligerent side of Pitta does not necessarily manifest itself in an explicit or rude form. In a state of balance, people of this type show warm and tender feelings and contentment of life. For people like Pitt, it is typical to walk with a resolute gait, to experience terrible hunger, if lunch is postponed for half an hour, to wake up at night from the sensation of thirst and heat, live by the clock and make full use of all your time.
